David Shingler creates distinctive landscape paintings characterized by their depth and kinetic energy, inviting viewers into immersive natural environments. Originally trained in sculpture and glassblowing, his understanding of materials and natural forces informs his current practice. Working primarily with oil on self-constructed wood panels, Shingler's oeuvre encompasses landscapes, cityscapes, and figurative works that capture the dramatic scenery of the American West and East Coast. A graduate of The Cleveland Institute of Art, Shingler received the First Agnes Gund Traveling Scholarship for international travel. His work has been exhibited across multiple states including Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and North Carolina, and featured in publications such as American Art Collector, Southwest Art—which named him to their "21 under 31" list—Western Art Collector, Fine Art Connoisseur, Western Art
