About the Item
Impressionist artist Purdy often paints figures in tranquil settings that include windows and flowers. The colors of yellow, soft blues and whites here convey a sunny setting. He often remarked that he wished to create a sense of reflection in his paintings.
His works are in many corporate, museum, and private collections including exhibitions at Hammer Galleries in New York City. A self-taught artist Purdy had a long, prolific and successful career painting based in Connecticut.
