This artwork "Four Figures" c.1990, is an oil painting on canvas by Haitian artist Fritz Rock, b.1944. It is signed at the lower right corner by the artist. The canvas size is 16 x 12 inches, framed size is 20.25 x 16.25 inches. Framed in a wooden light and dark brown frame. It is in excellent condition, the frame have some small minor restorations, barely visible.
About the artist:
Fritz Rock was born in June 1944 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. After primary school at Hermann Heraux, he became a camera operator in a theater. In his spare time, he began to paint market scenes "a la" Casimir Laurent School, retaining his style. His canvases are covered with colorful people. Taught by Casimir Laurent, he paints in the primitive style. He has been exhibited abroad. (Haiti Voodoo Kingdom Riviera by John Allen Franciscus, 1980). Fritz Rock left Haiti in 1986 to establish in Florida, USA.

About the artist:
Lajos Flesser was born on Aug. 11, 1937 in Budapest, where he grew up in the shadow of World War II. In his late teens he studied at trade school, concentrating on metal skills. His need of communication made him start boxing, and the success was long in coming. In boxing circles, Flesser became a well established name with a couple of Hungarian championships.
Then came the fatal year 1956, when Soviet tanks crushed the dreams of freedom. Flesser escaped and came to Sweden via Denmark.
In Gothenburg the well known boxing promoter Edvin Alqvist soon became aware of Flesser's capacity as a boxer and offered him a contract. His debut occurred in May 1957...
