"Lohengrin" The Swan Knight of The Holy Grail
Allegorical painting of the story of Lohengrin the mythical Knight Guardian of the Holy grail by Gabriel Karagianis (American, B-1975 circa). Two knights prepare to battle above a Swan and young swanlings floating in a stream. Colorful flower line the stream in reds and blue, while butterflies taste the nectar in the blossoms.

(Artist's statement) "I think I was around 4 years old when I visited an illustrator’s art studio with my grandfather, I knew then that I wanted to be an artist and I wanted to have a studio to produce work in. I used my drawing ability to make friends at school – we moved around a lot growing up. After high school, I attended The American Academy of Art in Chicago where I was heavily inspired by the graffiti art scene — along with the school’s traditional approach to figurative and neoclassical art. When I graduated, my main objective was to paint and I found a studio 2 years later which I have kept for the last 13 years." 2021.
