Hans Bohlmann (*1971) Hans Bohlmann studierte von 1991 bis 1996 Malerei- und Grafik an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig bei Professor Arno Rink. Nach Abschluss des Meisterschülerstudiums bei Professor Rink 1999 arbeitet er als freischaffender Künstler in Leipzig. Mitte der 90-er Jahre entwickelte sich das Schaffen Hans Bohlmanns von erzählerischer Grafik hin zu stärker konzeptuell geprägter Malerei. Hier reduzierte er zunehmend handschriftliche Gestik zugunsten einer emblematischen Bildstruktur. Die Motive werden auf der Fläche, vor einem von jeder Raumillusion befreiten Hintergrund regelrecht isoliert. Oft arbeitet Hans Bohlmann mit wiederkehrendem „Personal“. Es entstehen Porträtserien, Turnier- bzw. Ertüchtigungsszenen, Arbeiten mit Tiermotiven – hier dominieren in den späten 90-er und frühen 2000-er Jahren kurzhaarige, muskulöse Hunde. Es schieben sich verschiedene Werkblöcke in- und zueinander. Das Prinzip der Serie eröffnet sich bei Bohlmann als Aufforderung latenter Gegenbefragung. Es ist ein Verweisen auf die immer auch andere Möglichkeit, die Benennung der Dinge als Prozess. Hans Bohlmann dazu: „Ein abgeschlossenes Bild zeigt etwas Geronnenes. Etwas wird aus dem inneren Flackern in die Welt der sichtbaren Dinge gehoben und damit seiner eigentlichen Vertrautheit und Wandelbarkeit beraubt. Die Serie ist also der Versuch, ein ehemaliges Spektrum anzureißen.
