Ingrid Smuling, the Grand Lady of Still life painting is still working every day at the age of almost 80 years. ( In August '24 she will celebrate her 80th birthday )
Her small realistic series of jugs, bowls, flowers are popular as never before. Her paintings you can find worldwide in small and big collections, at homes from all kinds of people worldwide.
We are proud and pleased that we can show and sell in our gallery. In her clearly recognizable, realistic still- life paintings, preferably in a modest format, Ingrid Smuling (1944) creates tranquil images.
The love for the subjects, pots with preferably beautiful and blooming flowers, splashes from the still lifes. In her own way, Ingrid Smuling creates a unique atmosphere in a subtle play of light and shadow. The paintings exude a clear and serene atmosphere. The realistic representation of the pots and flowers in a serene, moody environment. The fabric expression shows her knowledge of the craft to a large extent.
Ingrid Smuling has a very personal style of painting, using a perfect balance between realism and figuration. With a subtle but still visible painting test, she knows how to create charm and atmosphere in her paintings like no other.
