Mid to late 20th century oil on board of a cellist by J. Tempier, signed bottom left and to the reverse with a reference to 78, quite probably the date of the painting and possibly titled 'Allegro' as noted to the reverse.
An extremely lively and colourful representation of this cellist at play. The quick and incisive brushstrokes give great energy to the painting. The expression of concentration on the cellist's face show someone lost in the frenetic moment of the music whilst the sound echoes around the figure.
