JAUME QUERALT (Tarragona, 1949).
“Retrato de niña”.
Carboncillo y técnica mixta sobre papel.
Firmado y titulado en el ángulo inferior derecho. Fechado en la zona inferior izquierda.
Medidas: 61 x 50 cm; 80 x 67 cm (marco).
Jaume Queralt inicia su formación artística en la Escela-Taller de Arte de Tarragona, y en 1964 ingresa en la Massana de Barcelona para ampliar sus estudios. En la ciudad condal frecuenta el Círculo de Sant Lluc y, en 1969, establece amistad con Joan Serra, del que recibe lecciones de pintura. En 1973 comienza su trayectoria como artista, y cuatro años después realiza un viaje a París. Queralt ha mostrado su obra tanto en España como en el extranjero, y entre sus más recientes exposiciones destaca la organizada en 2004 en el Shanghai Urban Exhibition Planning Hall. Ha sido distinguido con el Premio de la Academia de Paestum (Italia, 1972), la Placa de Plata de la Bienal Mexlicaltzin Moctezuma (México, 1972), el Primer Premio de Pintura en Amposta (Tarragona, 1977), la Medalla Gimeno de Tortosa (1982), el Premio Durán de Pintura (1989), el Primer Premio de Pintura Abstracta en el salón de Otoño de Val D´Or de 1990 (Francia), el Premio del Consejo General de l´Allier en Saint Victor (1991), y con la selección de su obra para el Salón de Otoño en el Gran Palais de los Campos Elíseos (París), entre otros reconocimientos. Está actualmente representado en los Museos de Arte Contemporáneo de Madrid y Tarragona y en el Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña, así como en numerosas colecciones particulares.
