Self-taught, very early influenced by the school landscaping
19th century, the work of Jean-Michel Noquet is made of spaces
mariners, bridges and shorelines. He composes his oceanic reveries in the
nostalgia for purity whose large white sails are the symbol.
The palette is warm, soft and very nuanced. Its stylized graphics are
very evocative. All is only finesse of touch, the delicacy of tones
where pierces a great sensitivity.
Each painting has its own character and its secret. His art aims
more to suggest the elements than to describe them and he leads us through
the suggestive power of color in a universe where the real and
the imaginary merge.
