This is a one of a kind original oil and resin painting by San Diego artist, Julia San Roman. Its dimensions are 36" x 60" It is unframed. A certificate of authenticity will follow delivery.
This is a surrealist figurative painting in which the artist has created stripes of colors in red and yellow. A female figure reaches down the canvas to point at parrots sitting on a floating branch.
In these celestial scenes, light is in constant struggle with the clouds for room in the sky. The red and yellow light beams explode through the grey amorphous masses, leaving a full spectrum of color in their wake. As the light vanquishes the dark, a feeling of optimism swells inside each of San Román’s paintings.

Julia San Román is a California artist born in Madrid, Spain. Although she concentrated her formal education on science, choosing to move to the United States to further her career and earning a Ph.D in Biology, the influence of her childhood exposure to art remained an integral part of her passion for life and, after receiving training in Studio Arts and Art History at the college level, she has committed her life to painting. San Román has had solo exhibitions at the Oceanside Museum of Art, Oceanside, CA; W.D.
