In "Shattered Atlas: The Modern Burden," Masri presents a mixed media piece that epitomizes 'Shattered Cubism,' a style that fragments reality into geometric forms and then reconstructs it to convey a deeper emotion. This contemporary abstract portrait is layered with oil and acrylic, creating a textured mosaic of earthen reds, muted umbers, and splinters of gold, against which the stark, urban shades of gray and slate stand out. Masri’s application of color and form portrays a figure carrying the weight of the world, reminiscent of the mythological Atlas, but fractured by the pressures and disjointedness of modernity. The overall emotion of the piece is contemplative and intense, inviting viewers to reflect on the fragmented nature of the self in the digital age and the collective challenge of navigating the contemporary world's demands.
About the Artist:
Masri is a passionate Italian, US-based artist whose work has been exhibited in the USA, the UK, Germany, Lebanon, Italy, and Norway. His work is varied and known especially in Europe and in Major collections - Ellen DeGeneres, Ringo Starr, Al Gore, and many more. Harnessing an insatiable desire for artistic discovery, innovation, and perfection, he dives into experimentation with openness and enthusiasm. As a result, his works are bright, expansive, and bold. Masri has developed a style that captures the Middle Eastern mood with a Lucien Freud brush touch. This style is completed with palette work, as the artist often goes into a trance-like state when creating these powerful expressions of the human experience.
Artist statement:
"I live four seasons every day - it is a humongous world of perceptions, conceptions, and achievements; a world of renewable psychological input and output fraught with flowing emotions, endurance, and pain. "
The painting comes with a certificate of authenticity and a letter of appraisal.

Deplacement, by Grégoire Mathias — Portrait in Diachronic cubism
Located in PÉRIGUEUX, FR

“Déplacement” (“Displacement”) exemplifies Grégoire Mathias’s signature Diachronic Cubism — a contemporary evolution of Cubism that captures not only multiple perspectives in space, but also the passage of time within a single frame.
In this work, intertwined faces and figures emerge through rhythmic geometric planes, suggesting both emotional movement and physical transition. The warm palette of ochre and sienna contrasts with sharp greys and whites, creating a powerful sense of fragmentation and reunion. Subtle red linework recalls the artist’s architectural precision, while the composition’s temporal layering evokes fleeting moments suspended between past and present.
This piece reflects Mathias’s ongoing exploration of the human form through temporal geometry — a visual dialogue between motion, memory, and identity.
