This striking oil by Milio Burquin depicts three fishermen taking a break from the day job. Sitting with their nets and ice box, the three men look displeased with their catch and stumped for conversation. Bare branches and a blanket of snow have been painted in an impasto style, matching that of the men's winter clothing and oil-fuelled boats. The oil has been signed by the artist to the lower right. Well presented in a decorative red and gilt frame. On canvas on stretchers. Image size: 36.5 x 56.5cm.
