About the Item
In The New Scene of Van Eyden, I reimagine a classical genre scene as a contemporary reflection on self-perception. Three figures — myself, my avatar, and the avatar’s companion — share the same visual space for the first time, suggesting a quiet metaphysical dialogue between the real, the virtual, and the imagined.
They sit around a vivid red table set with cups of coffee, its brightness contrasting with the muted tones of their attire. The central figure, with auburn hair and a calm, introspective gaze, anchors the scene. On the left, the one in a bucket hat brings a touch of mystery, while the rightmost figure, with platinum hair and dressed in black, adds serene tension. A black cat sprawls across the table, its presence linking the characters with a subtle note of playfulness.
The natural background of trees and open sky recalls the moral stillness of Dutch masters yet opens toward modern psychology and digital myth. I used Amsterdam™ Dutch acrylics on Italian Unico canvas, finished with satin varnish and painted edges. The work is signed, securely packed, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Miami" Artbox Project Barcelona 2.0, Switzerland, online magazines "ArtBaazar", as well as special projects "365 Days After" (international), "Women in Art", "Hryvnia Art" (Ukraine), etc. The works are part of the Museum's collection prominent figures of Ukrainian culture in Kyiv and the Korsak Museum of Modern Art in Lutsk.
