In this work, the night becomes a space of freedom and play. The woman-rider controls not only the horse but also the situation — her power lies in calmness, self-acceptance, and natural sensuality. In Night Rodeo, she becomes the mistress of the moment, setting the rhythm and direction.
The rider’s image turns into a metaphor of female strength that reveals itself without struggle or rivalry. Her calm, wisdom, and sensuality become the key instruments of victory. Here, power is the ability to be oneself and to embrace one’s wholeness.
The painting explores the theme of female identity — how confidence and inner harmony transform a woman into someone who always wins her own contest while staying true to herself.
Olena Kishkurno was born in Ukraine in 1976. She graduated from Kharkiv State academy of design and arts with a master's degree as a restorer of easel and monumental painting. Since 2022 lives in Germany. Olena is an artist who explores the changes in humans resulting from the clash with the digital world, their integration into this realm, and subsequently, the loss of connection with their original essence.
The main mediums are painting and graphics. Works with oil painting, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media.
