About the Item
In this series, Paloma Castello relocates classical gods to an unexpected territory: a tropical paradise where marble, fruit, birds, and intense color coexist without hierarchy. Apollo and Venus leave behind the solemnity of Olympus to inhabit a warm, luminous, everyday space. Castello contrasts classical iconography with Latin tropical elements—watermelons, macaws, palm trees—creating images that oscillate between the divine and the pop. This encounter generates a subtle tension: the eternal becomes familiar, and the domestic takes on a mythical aura.
With this series, Castello builds an intimate, tropical imaginary in which ancient myths are reinvented through color, memory, and her own emotional landscape of the Caribbean and South America. A space where the classical comes alive again.
The artistic work of Paloma Castello, giving life or a different narrative to the past of an object. She is interested in playing with memory and relating it to the present, creating an atmosphere between reality and fiction. Castellos' family and social origins have a powerful influence on her work. She grew up surrounded by objects and anecdotes inherited from her ancestors that inspire endless surreal stories. Her work arises from these experiences; They are evidence of her “autofiction.” Paloma Castello presents us with a work full of nostalgia. Her artistic work represents the soul of her proposal: inherited objects discovered or found that have become the tip of the iceberg of her past. They are elements that she collects, remembers and then classifies following a method that frames her anachronistic attitude that shows the youth of her art. It also shows that experimentation on herself is common for an artist just starting her career. Without a doubt, this resource, valid and true, becomes the path that determines the author's experimental character.

Paloma Castello
Castello's “Exotic Delirium” installation where the artist pays tribute to the constant hybridization and miscegenation, to the richness that springs from the intersection of different universes, to the possibility of cohabitation and the need for adaptation, and to the landscape as a historical and dynamic unit... Dreams in which reality and fiction are interwoven, since, as Michel Foucault put it: "There is the possibility of making fiction work in truth, of inducing the effects of truth through fictional discourse, and from this truthful discourse to arouse, manufacture, something that does not yet exist, in other words, create fiction." ___________________________________

ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is a visual ode to the romance of a vacation, its fleeting
intensity and richness. Like the explosion of a tropical storm, it
captures the surge of memories so vivid and all-consuming that
moments of happiness and ecstasy almost eclipse each other in a
powerful flood of emotion. Like a vacation romance, the painting
seems endless and boundless, but with time, each burst of passion
subsides, leaving only memories.
The painting lures the viewer into a world where romantic adventures
intertwine with the unbridled joy of sunny days, charged with flirtation
and carelessness. Each brushstroke evokes memories of happy days
on vacation, where each moment feels like an eternity in a tropical
Paradise.
