Created on a wooden panel and housed in a handmade custom frame
The artist uses a unique impasto technique which highlights the expressions and movements of the dancers.
A bright, bold and very colorful painting filled with texture and movement.
The painting measures 35.5" wide x 23.5" high
The frame measures 40.75" wide x 28" high
Double signed in the lower right corner
Good vintage condition with a few minor spots of paint loss around the frame (see images)
Richard Whalen was an American painter, sculptor and Flamenco aficionado, opening Los Flamencos de la Bodega, in the music room of the Old Spaghetti Factory on Pearl Harbor Day in 1958.
This is a fine opportunity to acquire a rare original painting by this talented San Francisco artist.
