Robin Glanville was an art school graduate from he Johannesburg School of Art. He graduated in painting, graphic design, architectural drawing, figure drawing, sculpture and printmaking, and art history. His career path took a U-turn and he became an art director in the advertising industry, working with photographers, illustrators, and printworks, in ad agencies from 1970-1994. JWT, BBDO, SAATCHI, LINTAS, and FCB to name a few. From 1995 onwards, became a Freelancer, preferring the freedom of a roving Magazine photographer/writer, on assignment to romantic destinations such as Sri Lanka, Nassau in the Caribbean, The Maldives, Italy, Greece and London. It was only in later years that Robin returned to his art roots and painted full time. Drawing mostly from the post-impressionists, often with a gloomy undertone, sometimes with the tongue in the cheek, his artwork appeal to the emotions with it's mystical and mysterious qualities.
