The Return of Galliano
This work was inspired by the Maison Margiela Artisanal 2024 show, the triumphant return of John Galliano. His handwriting cannot be confused: theatricality, fragile boldness and incredible plasticity of images that do not just walk down the runway, but as if they live a whole life.
The canvas is not a direct quote, but a feeling, a fantasy of that moment. The figure with a bare back and a rigid corset symbolizes vulnerable strength. Everything is like Galliano's: skewed form, drama in movement, strange and beautiful faces. This is the return of an artist who never spoke directly, but always accurately.
