British female artist, attributed to Margaret Sarah Carpenter, nee Geddes, painted this lovely 19th century portrait oil painting. A lovely Victorian portrait oil painting by a female artist who was much sought after as a portraitist in London and she was also a frequent exhibitor at the Royal Academy. When purchased this painting was of a single sitter. However when this stunning painting was professionally cleaned it revealed the second younger sister. Provenance.
