Artist’s Biography:
Tom Cowsert (b. 1962, Mississippi, USA) is a self-taught painter who left a career in finance to devote himself fully to art. He has lived in Spain for over twenty-five years and has exhibited in Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Granada, Marbella, Mallorca, Ibiza, and Toledo, as well as in France, Italy, Switzerland, and the United States.
His style—cubist, figurative, and expressive—fuses geometric fragmentation with chromatic theatricality, influenced by Picasso, Matisse, and Juan Gris, as well as by Spanish masters such as Velázquez, El Greco, Sorolla, and Dalí. His works are held in private collections across Europe and America and are recognized for reinterpreting the cubist tradition with a contemporary and Mediterranean sensitivity.
