Antique oil painting on stretched canvas of lacemakers by the sea, most likely to be Brittany in France. This very unusual and totally charming painting of three lacemakers in a coastal setting is from the 19th century. Two women are busy making lace while another has a snooze. These women may all be from the same family, the grandmother having passed her skills down to her daughter and gand-daughter. It's on a smooth canvas in a vintage frame. The palette is quite muted and moody.
