Questa ceramica dipinta, 33 x 24 cm senza la cornice, è ispirata dal "Riposo durante la fuga in Egitto" di Simone Cantarini detto il Pesarese, realizzato negli anni trenta del XVII secolo ed oggi conservato al Museo del Louvre.
Considerando che la città di provenienza del pittore, Pesaro, e la sua area era molto conosciuta per la produzione ceramica, si può supporre una provenienza proprio da lì o comunque può essere ascritto ad una manifattura del centro est d'Italia.
