Esta obra es un icono religioso de estilo bizantino, característico por su fondo dorado y la representación solemne de figuras sagradas. La escena central muestra a la Virgen María, vestida con un manto rojo y túnica azul, sosteniendo al Niño Jesús en sus brazos. Ambos están rodeados por un halo dorado que resalta su santidad y centralidad en la composición.
Sobre la Virgen y el Niño, se observa una corona real sostenida por dos ángeles, uno a cada lado, que también portan halos y visten túnicas ornamentadas. Los ángeles sostienen filacterias (bandas con inscripciones en griego), lo que es típico en la iconografía ortodoxa para transmitir mensajes sagrados o fragmentos de escrituras.
El fondo negro contrasta con los detalles dorados y los colores vivos de las vestimentas, creando un efecto de profundidad y solemnidad. El marco dorado, con signos de desgaste, refuerza la antigüedad y el carácter devocional de la pieza.
