Behind them, a seated musician plays the bandoneón, anchoring the composition in the authentic soundscape of tango culture. The palette—dominated by smoky grays, deep blacks, and vibrant reds—creates a moody, nocturnal ambiance, echoing the emotional depth of the dance itself. Loose, gestural lines and painterly abstraction give the work a contemporary expressionist character while remaining firmly rooted in figurative tradition.
The painting is signed by the artist Ale Rival on the front and further authenticated on the verso, where it is hand-titled “Pasión Tanguera,” inscribed with “Buenos Aires, Argentina,” dated 10/11 ( 10/2011) and signed by Ale Rival.
