This charming Victorian oil depicts a young girl innocently playing by a pond with ducks. The child can be seen grasping a long stick in her left hand, enticing the paddling birds closer. The artist has paid particular attention to the scene's luscious foliage and reflection of light in the water. Well-presented in a stylish black frame with a plain gilt slip. Indistinctly signed to the front and illegibly inscribed to the reverse. On canvas on stretchers.
