This genre scene depicts an elderly woman knitting in a humble interior. The work is unsigned, but is inscribed "Gerlings" to the reverse and bears indistinct German inscriptions on the stretchers. Well presented in a gilt-effect frame. On canvas on stretchers. Image size: 63.5 x 59.5cm.
