The sacred depiction proposes the moment of Jesus' birth in a cave, watched over and worshipped by Mary and Joseph together with four angels; the figures are well characterized and underscored by vivid colors, while behind them the donkey and ox blend in with the chromatic uniformity of the cave and the earth.
On the right, in the background and in muted colors, fading into the background landscape is the scene of the announcement to the shepherds.
