Dutch Female artist, painter Yvonne Heemskerk is famous in Holland because of her strong and narrative portraits. A strong woman herself she knows how to characterize the portraits.
Winner of the Dutch TV-show 'Portrait the Stars' with a painting of a Dutch actress, owner of her own school for students who wants to become a better painter.
For our last show, we opened on December 12th of December '21 st made a serie of strong women. In this painting she painted her version of famous women like Athena and Cleopatra . In this painting she panted another sort of strong woman. In Holland is a strong tradition of boatsmen, fishermen, traders 'working our traveling on te sea'. While the men where 'at work', the women had to stay at home, besides the works they had at home. They had to wait with the knowledge that very often the men never came back because of accidents like strong wind or storms. Famous stories about waiting women watching over te see in the hope to catch a glimpse of their man sailing home.
Yvonne painted this conversation piece 'wet in wet' so, when you're standing in front of it, you will be overwhelmed by the use of color and the brushstrokes she used to get life in this work.
You will have a Dutch piece of art where they will talk about. On pictures we enclosed you can see a part of a cover article in the American 'The Guide Artists Magazine'. About inspiration, style and career of tis Dutch Female artist.

Yvonne Heemskerk
Yvonne Heemskerk is not only a free visual artist but also a portrait painter. Moreover, she is very active and successful as a teacher in her painting school. She lives with her family in the village of Voorhout in the Bollenstreek. Heemskerk works with both oil and acrylic paint.
