About the Item
Antonio Maria Aspettati (1880–1949) was an Italian painter born on 25 March 1880 in Florence, where he also trained at the local Academy of Fine Arts. He began exhibiting at just eighteen and became known for his highly detailed church interiors, palace halls, and museum spaces, always characterized by “exacts prospettive con geniali effetti di luce” (“precise perspective with ingenious lighting effects”) .
Over his career, Aspettati participated in local exhibitions, won accolades (including at Florence’s “Mostra del Soldato”), and was invited to the VII Quadriennale di Roma. He was an honorary member of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze
