A fantastic oppotunity to buy a piece by Camill Roqueplan.His works do not come up often in auction but in 1989 one reached FF 200 000.

Born 18 February 1803 in Mallemort and died on 29 September 1855 in Paris
French painter of genre, figures, landscapes, animals in both oil and watercolours.
He was a pupil of Gros and d’Abel de Pujol. He was awarded a 2nd Class medal in 1824 and a 1st Class medal in 1828 He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 1832.
He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1822 to 1855 with landscapes and figures in the Italian style of the romantics. His brother Nestor Roqueplan was a popular writer of the time of life in 19th Century France.
Paintings by Roqueplan have been in the Museums of Bayonne, Bordeaux, Brooklyn USA, Chantilly, Fontainebleau, Grenoble, Le Havre, Leipzig, Lille, London, Marseille, Paris, and Versailles.
