Painter, born in Roubaix in the North, Charles Bulteau studied with Alexandre Cabanel and Bénédict Masson in Paris. He exhibited portraits at the Paris Salon in the late 1870s and early 1880s.
Our painting represents the interior of the church of Saint Germain de Charonne in Paris. A view with many details and a beautiful rendering of the material, in the manner of François Marius Granet and the troubadour style.
