Our painting is very close to a painting by Granet his “Interior of a cloister with nuns” (Royal Palace of Naples). The subject of the cloister interior with nuns with a light “à la Granet”, this fine, very clear light with a powerful play of chiaroscuro are characteristic of Granet’s art. This may be a work by a student of Granet, or a repliqua by the romantic master of the light.
