About the Item

Whimsical depiction of the artist's kitchen by Jon Joaquin (American, b. 1944). Titled, initialed, and dated on verso. New; acquired directly from the artist. No frame, but the edges are painted for a frame-less display. Jon Joaquin (American, b. 1944) is a California artist from Pacific Grove who focuses primarily on industrial, mechanical, and everyday urban scenes. He paints with a highly saturated palette, bringing a vibrancy to what would otherwise be ordinary. For Joaquin, painting is about the “challenge of expressing an idea” rather than the finished piece. Joaquin has shown his paintings throughout Santa Cruz County. He currently resides in Santa Cruz with his wife, who is also an artist.
