The artist Mitzy Renooy in this painting shows skating people in a landscape with ice and small traces of snow, trees, heather and leaves. The loose painting style of Renooy developed during the last two years of her study at Academy of Classical Arts in Groningen under the guidance of her mentor Sam Drukker. From a rigidly working potrait painter Mitzy has become an artist with whom a fluid brush stroke, rhythm and dynamism tell a story.
