About the Item

The painting captures a wonderfully amusing family moment set in the 16th century. In the center of the painting we see the father, exhausted by worries and dozing in his chair in front of the table. Sneaking up to his sleeping dad, his son trying to pull the massive sword from its scabbard. Children have a spontaneous and sincere love for their parents, which sometimes pushes them to do a lot, just to be a little like them. This humorous and touching genre scene does not leave us indifferent. Who knows, maybe one day this little boy will grow into a brave warrior, but for now let's let him fool around... :) Antique oil painting on canvas, signed indistinct lower left, unframed. Size app.: 61 x 50 cm (roughly 24 x 19.7 in). Overall in pretty good condition with wear such minor paint losses. Please study good resolution images for cosmetic condition. In person actual painting may appear darker or brighter than in our pictures, strictly depending on sufficient light in your environment.
