Frame: Height 39cm, width 30cm, depth 0.5cm
Sheet: Height 36cm, width 27cm
Finely painted in grisaille to depict the crowning of a Russian Tsar- most likely Nicholai II. The kneeling Tsar the central figure surrounded in the crowded cathedral- probably the Dormition Cathedral in Moscow. The crowd looking on as the crown is being place on his head.
