About the Item

The fourth mini painting in this series. Beautifully framed in a solid white wooden frame especially made for this mini series. A lakeside view, lush teals and blues, this is my favourite place. This image has been inspired by Ullswater in the northern region of the Cumbrian Lake District. It’s an area of outstanding natural beauty, it can appear so different not only by season but by the hour as weather conditions change in a heartbeat. Painted onto canvas board using professional quality paint and then sealed with varnish to protect the surface from light and dust. Additional information: Acrylic on Board, Canvas 16.5 H x 16.5 W x 2.5 D cm (6.50 x 6.50 x 0.98 in) Sold framed Image size: Height: 6.5cm (2.56 in) Width: 6.5cm (2.56 in) Complete size of unframed painting Height: 6.5cm (2.56 in) Width: 6.5cm (2.56 in) Depth: 1cm (0.39 in) Framed Size: Height: 16.5cm (6.50 in) Width: 16.5cm (6.50 in) Depth: 2.5cm (0.98 in) Artist biography: Jan Rogers, artist, is available to buy online and in our gallery at Wychwood Art. Since discovering Kandinsky at a very early age I have been obsessed with vibrant colour and pattern. I later discovered William Morris and I knew I wanted to spend my life creating pattern, in particularly I was going to design wallpaper. After graduating from art college I set up my own business as a freelance surface pattern designer, selling to a worldwide market of home furnishing manufacturers. This was a wonderful and rewarding career until the industry began to change. As we now live in a digital world the requirement to create and manipulate design on a computer took away the joy and thrill of an ever changing journey that creating as you go allowed. I needed to break away and find a new way of creating, inventing and expressing the energy and passion designing once gave me. So since 2017 I have been painting, inspired by my love of flowers and the British landscape and seascapes it's the perfect way forward for me and wonderful to experiment with new mediums and subjects without restriction. I like to think each painting is a further development of the previous one and that I am continuously growing, evolving and discovering new art as each week passes.
