About the Item

Achille Formis Befani 1832-1906, was an Italian painter. He was a talented singer who switched career in his early 30's to become a painter. He trained in Milan and travelled repeatedly to the Near East, by the 1870's he included landscapes around Lake Maggiore and Lombardy. He exhibited work in Italy , Berlin and Munich during his career until his death in Milan in 1906.
