About the Item
AKOS BIRO (HUNGARIAN 1911-2002)
watercolour painting
size: 9 x 6.75 inches
Beautifully colourful, original painting by the very popular and highly regarded Hungarian/ French painter, Akos Biro (1911-2002).
The painting has impeccable provenance - having come from the artists studio and estate in France. It has not had any former owners (except us and the artists family) - this is an ideal opportunity to acquire such a work with unbeatable provenance.
Born in Hungary in 1911, Akos Biro is very much thought of as a French painter, due to the he lived and worked in France for most of his professional life - firstly with studios in Montparnasse and Montmartre before he discovered the warmth and light of Provence, where he moved permanently to in the 1970's. He died in Mougins in the South of France in 2002. He studied at the Budapest Academy of Arts and Rome Art School. Amongst his many exhibitions throughout France, he had several solo exhibitions in Central Europe, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Montreal, New York, Cannes, Paris.
The style of the painting is extremely a la mode, to be styled against a very light neutral background where the eclectic paintings and soft furnishings will add life to the room.
Condition report:
The painting is in a lovely condition.
