Scenic winter oil on board landscape of a frozen river winding through snowy countryside by Alex Mclaren (Portugal/Canadian, 1892-1959). Signed "Alex Mclaren" bottom left. Unframed. Image size: 16" H X 20" L.
Mclaren was a painter and illustrator during the post war-era in Canada. He immigrated to Canada in 1911 from Lisbon, Portugal. Studied at the Dundee School of art in Scotland. After immigrating to Montreal in 1911 he studied at the Academy Fine Arts De Montréal.
