About the Item
Vintage oil painting on canvas, signed in the lower left by the artist, Alfred Persia (1933-1921) and entitled Autumn in Provence. This delightful post-impressionist medium sized painting is full of the colours of autumn. Beneath a swirling blue sky with hints of lilac, a small hamlet sits with a hilly background. Houses snuggle together awaiting the winter's arrival. Colourful hues of golden browns and lime greens are accompanied by the deep petrol blue of the lake in the fore.

Condition: The painting is in good vintage condition, the frame also vintage, has minor imperfections.
Signed: Alfred Persia (1933-1921) was a French painter living in the South of France, he was nicknamed "The Provençal Impressionist." and was known as a painter of colours with an ever-explosive vibrancy. He painted every day for over fifty years. His fame crossed borders, as the newspaper Le Provençal wrote in 2018 that "The common thread between the Aladdin Palace in Las Vegas, the Emir of Bahrain, and Charles Aznavour is that they all own paintings by the Avignon-born artist Alfred Persia."
