About the Item
The work was created for the Utopia of TOLINA exhibition which featured paintings and drawings inspired by the imagination of the artist’s five-year-old son, who created a constantly shifting city — a refuge of hope in turbulent times. Amílcar Rivera M.’s works depict silent figures with closed eyes, deeply immersed within themselves: inhabitants of this utopian space. Tolina reflects the human need to imagine a better place and to believe in the possibility of change.
This painting is in excellent condition, stretched on wooden stretcher bars. It is signed by the artist and includes a Certificate of Authenticity issued by the gallery.
Amílcar Rivera M. is a multidisciplinary artist who graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Universidad Veracruzana in Mexico and now lives and creates in Vilnius, Lithuania. His international experiences in Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Spain, Lithuania, and the United States have deeply influenced his artistic vision. In 2018, he participated in an artist residency at Rajamangala University in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where one of his paintings was selected for the Chiang Mai Art Museum.
