About the Item
On a summer morning in 1993 a 22 years old young came to Florida from a small old town in the central area of Cuba called Santa Clara. In his bag, he brought no more than two valuable things, his worn-out brushes and a great dream. The dream to one day become a professional artist in this new land that welcomed him with open arms.
Captivated by his love for the beauty of the Landscapes, his last works are what he sees even in the most common scenes: the close relationship of life and who we are with the natural world around us that asks us to respect and care for it. Other available paintings are shown below.
Deering Estate Stone House
Stone House was designed by Phineas Paist and was completed in 1922. It has 18 inch poured concrete walls, limestone, coffered ceilings and copper clad and brass doors. After the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, Charles Deering was nervous of what fire could do. He decided to build his Stone House without a stove. There was a kitchen that housed refrigeration cabinets and storage but the cooking was done in the Richmond Cottage. It was his trepidation of fire that had him asking the architect/designer for the 18 inch concrete walls and brass doors. He also added an elevator to the house which was very forward thinking for 1922.[15] The large wine cellar that is located on the first floor was not discovered until after Hurricane Andrew. It was very well hidden behind built-in cabinetry. Hurricane Andrew flooded the first floor and damaged much of it. It was during the clean up process that it was discovered. He intended the house to be used as a showcase for his art collection and books.
Charles Deering was born on July 31, 1852 in Paris, Maine.[2] He was the son of William Deering, founder of Deering Harvester Company, and brother of millionaire industrialist James Deering. Deering is remembered as an American businessman and philanthropist.
In 1873 Deering graduated from the United States Naval Academy and served as an officer in the Navy until 1881. Deering then became secretary of his father's company, which merged with McCormick Harvesting Machine Company and became International Harvester in 1902. After the merger, Deering became the chairman of the board for International Harvester.[2] Charles Deering died at the age of 75 at his estate at Cutler, at 11:30 P.M. on February 5, 1927.[ After Charles' death, the estate was left to his wife and children.
Artist Statement:
" I like to scrutinize in the simple things, sometimes it is there where the lost painting is waiting to be found by the painter's eyes.
The landscape painting gives me the opportunity to establish a close relationship with the natural world and humbly capture on a canvas a little of its beauty listening to its voice that reminds us how valuable we are and how much we should love it".
Biography: On a summer morning in 1993 a 22 years old young came to Florida, USA from a small old town in the central area of Cuba called Santa Clara. In his bag, he brought no more than two valuable things, his worn-out brushes and a great dream. The dream to one day become a professional artist in this new land that welcomed him with open arms. Andres Lopez was born on July 6, 1971. As a child, he developed a deep love for the beauty of the countryside and the exquisite architecture of his hometown. He participated in drawing contests at the tender age of 9 where landscapes were always his favorite theme. When he became an adolescent he began taking art classes at the local art school and later decided to devote himself to painting and craftwork to support their parents financially. When he arrived at the United States, he immediately worked to achieve his goals. Later, in 1999 Andrés López dedicated his passion to the world of mural painting. In 2003 he obtained his US citizenship and a year later he created his own business called Artistic Illusions Painting, Inc.
Today, after a career of more than 30 years, Andrés López continues to paint and teach drawing and painting.
"My goal is to build a solid foundation for the student in drawing, composition, understanding of values, etc. Tools that they can use later in their lives as artists."

Old Tuscan Farmhouse Italian artist Florence Realism Landscape Oil on panel
By Barbara Castrucci
Located in Houston, TX
Pine Trees in the Summer 16" x 12" is an oil painting done in the style of Realism in the artist studio in Florence, Italy. It has a custom frame made in Florence by a master framer. These are the small landscapes Barbara Castrucci painted near her home in Tuscany. Tuscany is a region in central Italy. Its capital, Florence, is home to some of the world’s most recognizable Renaissance art and architecture, including Michelangelo’s "David" statue, Botticelli’s works in the Uffizi Gallery and the Duomo basilica. Its diverse natural landscape encompasses the rugged Apennine Mountains, the island of Elba’s beaches on the Tyrrhenian Sea and Chianti’s olive groves and vineyards.
Bio
As the daughter of a sculptor, I had my first encounter with art as a child observing my father draw and sculpt.
During my high school years I frequented many of the Florentine workshops and studios which inspired me to become a painter. While still in high school I enrolled in old master painting courses devoting my artistic development to discovering and learning the techniques of the great art of the Flemish, Spanish and Italian masters of the 17th century.
After graduating from high school I studied the 19th century academic tradition of drawing and painting with Rebecca Harp, Marc Dalessio and Leo Mancini Hresko...

Mission Palm Shadow Impressionism 8"x6" Landscape Southwest USA
Located in Houston, TX
Mission San Jose in San Antonio is known for spectacular architecture, but the dramatic shadow cast by one simple palm tree shows the light and shadow in the painting.
Founding the “Queen of the Missions”
In 1719, Father Margil de Jesús, a seasoned Franciscan missionary, was at Mission San Antonio de Valero (today’s Alamo), awaiting the opportunity to re-establish missions in east Texas. Before too long, he saw need for another mission in the San Antonio River valley. He wrote the Marqués de Aguayo, then governor of the Province of Coahuila and Texas, requesting permission to establish a second mission south of San Antonio de Valero. He felt he was prepared to establish this mission at once as he had necessary church goods with him, even a statue of Saint Joseph.
The Marqués agreed and founding ceremonies took place on February 23, 1720. On February 23, 1720 the Writ of Possession was signed for this mission, read the Writ of Possession here. Leaders of three Indian bands that wanted to come into the mission were appointed governor, judge, and sheriff in the new community of San José y San Miguel de Aguayo. Father Margil entrusted the care of the project to Father Núñez and two soldiers.
The building of the limestone church, with its extraordinary Spanish colonial Baroque architecture and statuary began in 1768 — the peak of this mission’s development. At that time there were 350 Indians residing in 84 two-room apartments. Based on Father Morfi’s description of what he saw here when he visited in 1777, the church of Mission San José came to be known as the “Queen of the Missions.”

By Judy Crowe
Located in Houston, TX
Bastille Day is an example of the Impressionist painters that the artist most admires for their vibrant use of color and their individual brushwork.
As it did for the impressionists, everyday subjects inspire Judy Crowe such as Bastille Day in this oil painting..
She loves to use in her oil paintings, flowers, discovered objects and landscapes and appreciates the beauty of nature. In Bastille Day it’s quite a challenge to capture the feel of a time or place on canvas rather than a photo representation.
