Condition: As is normal with unframed works on paper there are some minor old creases or paper edge curls/ tears - all of which should be covered over or smoothed out once framed; generally very good and sound.
Provenance: as with all the works we have by this artist, it has come from the artists estate in France.
Description: This expressive Mid-20th Century Post-Impressionist pastel by Anne Marie Migette Perard presents a sun-soaked village scene surrounded by slender cypress trees and rustic Mediterranean architecture. The warm pastel tones—terracotta, peach, ochre, and soft pink—combine with splashes of green foliage and vibrant orange fruit to evoke a summery, southern European atmosphere.
While the lower right inscription appears to read "Gzenote," the specific location remains unclear. Nevertheless, the composition strongly suggests a Provençal or Italian hill town, complete with arched windows, red-tiled roofs, and a small church tower peeking above garden walls.
