Title: Mid-20th Century Post-Impressionist Watercolour of Boats and Lighthouse by Anne Marie Migette Perard (French 1902-1977) Signed: Yes Medium: Watercolor on unframed paper Size: 16.25 inches (height) x 13 inches (width) Condition: As is normal with unframed works on paper there are some minor old creases or paper edge curls/ tears - all of which should be covered over or smoothed out once framed; generally very good and sound. Provenance: as with all the works we have by this artist, it has come from the artists estate in France. Description: This vivid and characterful Mid-20th Century Post-Impressionist watercolour by Anne Marie Migette Perard captures a quintessentially French coastal scene featuring colourful moored boats and a tall lighthouse presiding over the shore. Composed in bold, dynamic shapes and luminous washes of colour, the piece is rich in both atmosphere and structure. The focal point of the composition is the towering lighthouse, its cylindrical white form capped with a red band and green dome, rising against a wide, expansive sky. Below, a scattering of small fishing boats in hues of red, blue, orange, and rose are docked along grassy shallows and dry sand, their sails lowered, their masts cutting vertical lines through the scene.
