Condition: As is normal with unframed works on paper there are some minor old creases or paper edge curls/ tears - all of which should be covered over or smoothed out once framed; generally very good and sound.
Provenance: as with all the works we have by this artist, it has come from the artists estate in France.
Description: This delicately rendered watercolour by Anne Marie Migette Perard captures a quiet, sunlit view over the terracotta rooftops of Goudargues, a small village in the Gard region of southern France, often affectionately referred to as "the Venice of the Gard" for its peaceful canals and bridges. Seen from an elevated angle, the painting looks down over pale stone buildings, gently curving streets, and leafy green trees nestled between walls and rooftops.
Perard’s soft handling of watercolour creates a luminous, almost dreamlike effect. The muted tones of peach, ochre, and lilac contrast subtly with the fresh greens of the trees and the hazy wash of the forest beyond.
