Condition: As is normal with unframed works on paper there are some minor old creases or paper edge curls/ tears - all of which should be covered over or smoothed out once framed; generally very good and sound.
Provenance: as with all the works we have by this artist, it has come from the artists estate in France.
Description: This evocative mid-century watercolour by Anne Marie Migette Perard captures a quiet, sunlit moment in a private French garden. A woman sits in a plastic chair in the foreground, face partially obscured by her hand in a gesture of fatigue, thoughtfulness, or rest. Behind her, a lush green garden blooms with soft pink and yellow flowers, and large Mediterranean-style buildings with terracotta roofs glow under a clear blue sky.
Dominating the left side of the composition is a large, elegant tree with a twisting trunk, its leafy branches arching protectively over the garden scene.
