Original oil on canvas board painting of a fall landscape by the American artist, Arthur Mitchell. Signed lower left by the artist. Circa 1890. Condition is very good. The painting is in its original period elaborate gold leaf frame. Overall framed measurements are 24 by 20 inches. Provenance: A Brooklyn, New York estate.
Arthur Mitchell (1864 - 1954) was active/lived in Missouri, Illinois. Arthur Mitchell is known for Landscape.
A graduate of the St. Louis School of Fine Arts, landscape painter Arthur Mitchell was a graduate of the St. Louis School of Fine Arts where he studied with Gustav Wolff. He was also a member of the St. Louis Artist Guild and often exhibited within the St. Louis community.
