Misty Pond in San Antonio Texas Original Oil on Canvas
Flowers by a pond by Texas artist Aurora "Ora" V. Hererra (American, 1928-2008). The painting depicts a serene lakeside scene with trees on the left and a misty, soft-focused background. The color palette is dominated by greens, blues, and subtle earth tones, suggesting a tranquil natural environment. The frame is ornate and gilded, which adds to the traditional aesthetic of the artwork. Ora was an accomplished artist. She was a member of the Randolph Art League and the River Art Group. Ora worked primarily with oil/acrylic medium and also watercolor. She created everything from wonderful scenes of landscapes and bluebonnets to vibrant flowers. She always had a thirst for learning, spending some time in Europe to learn techniques of the masters.
