Raised in Oxford, he was born into a family immersed in the arts, with his mother, Jane Hope, being a painter, and his father an academic historian, with artistic lineage tracing through his grandparents as well.
Having pursued Mathematics and Physics at the University of Warwick and completing Part III of the Mathematical Tripos at Cambridge University, he furthered his academic journey by obtaining a PhD in theoretical nanoscience at Cambridge. Alongside his academic pursuits, he showcased his athleticism as a competitive runner, earning four Cambridge Blues for cross-country.
In 1999, Hope was extended an invitation to join the Oxford Art Society. His artistic talents flourished, with his still-life piece titled Old Violin...
